How Sports Teams Travel

Part of being a member of a sports team is engaging in frequent travels. Now a team trip is different from a personal or private trip in that all of the members of the team, along with the trainer and other staff, go as one. The journey can be to attend a sporting event or visit an establishment like a gym, school, museum, orphanage, government office, and practically all places. This is because sports teams and players are considered celebrities in their own rights who command respect and adoration among many people.

For land trips, the team would usually ride a coach, equipped with the necessary facilities. More prominent teams usually have a private coach that they use for official purposes. A coach is a large, luxurious bus that provides higher level of comfort than a regular bus line. It is generally more ideal for longer trips, from one city or country to another.

The coach comes in two types: inter-city coach and urban-suburban coach. An inter-city coach rivals with other means of long-distance vehicles like trains, planes, and cars. It is normally equipped with reclining upholstered seats, toilet, and air-conditioning for a more comfortable ride. It also features overhead and below-the-seat storage, small tables for snacks, video screen, and passenger-controlled lights and ventilation. On the other hand, an urban-suburban coach is a public transit that largely follows metropolitan routes. It may simply be a refitted school bus or minibus. It may have a few high-back seats that fold into wheelchairs, while the rest of the seats are reclining upholstered seats with individual lights, ventilation and storage. As a commuter bus, it has a standing room, stop-request device, and fare box.
